Transparency Strengthened, Cirebon City Government Asks Information Commission to Spur Innovation in Access to Public Data

Cirebon, Konntroversinews | The Cirebon City Government invites all new commissioners to make this moment of handover of positions the beginning of closer collaboration. With a shared vision towards a city that is informative, transparent and responsive to community needs, the City Government emphasizes its commitment to continue to support the Information Commission’s role as a strategic partner.

Deputy Mayor of Cirebon, Siti Farida Rosmawati, who was present at the handover ceremony for the position of Commissioner of the Cirebon City Information Commission, said that innovation in public information services is important, the public now demands fast, simple and unhindered access to data.

“We can no longer continue with the old pattern. People must be able to get the information they need without complicated things. Information service innovation is the key,” he said when giving a speech, Monday (24/11/2025)

On this occasion, the Cirebon City Government also expressed its appreciation and thanks to the Commissioner of the Information Commission for the 2021–2025 period who has completed his term of service. The Deputy Mayor expressed his sincere appreciation for the dedication of the commissioners in maintaining the mandate regarding public information disclosure.

According to him, the role of the Information Commission is vital, because it spearheads the implementation of the Public Information Openness Law at the city level. He assessed that, throughout the previous period, various efforts to strengthen transparency were significant and able to increase public confidence in government administration.

“Mr. and Mrs.’s contribution has made Cirebon more informative and open. This is an important achievement that is felt directly by residents,” he added.

The Deputy Mayor also expressed the hope that the previous commissioner’s service would be an example for all stakeholders in the City of Cirebon. He emphasized that the spirit of serving the public through transparency is a big asset in strengthening regional government governance.

To the new commissioners for the 2025–2029 period, the Cirebon City Government congratulates them on their inauguration which has gone through a strict and credible selection process. The new commissioners are expected to be able to face the increasingly complex challenges of information disclosure in the current digital era.

The Deputy Mayor said that openness is not just a regulatory requirement, but is the foundation so that every public policy can be accountable to the community. Therefore, he asked the new commissioners to work immediately with a focus on strengthening the socialization of information rights, resolving disputes quickly and professionally, and creating service innovations that facilitate access to information.

“We want this commission to become a strategic partner in building transparent, participatory and accountable governance,” he stressed.

Chairman of the Cirebon City Information Commission for the 2025–2029 period, Agung Soedijono, welcomed the mandate carried out by his institution. He hopes that the condition of the public information ecosystem remains conducive.

“We hope that there will be no information disputes. Before problems or conflicts arise, we are committed to establishing partnerships with public bodies,” he said.

Agung also emphasized the importance of cooperation and good communication with various parties, especially with the Cirebon City DKIS. “With the prayers and support of all parties, especially our partner DKIS Cirebon City, we are confident that we can carry out this task as well as possible,” he hoped.
