Cirebon, Kontroversinews, Com.- Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Cirebon City have again received concrete support from the city government through the opening of Go Global and Go Modern MSME Training as well as Digital Marketing Training for Go Online and Go Digital which was held by DKUKMPP Cirebon City, Monday (1/12/2025). Rather than just training, this agenda is positioned as a strategic step to help MSMEs utilize technology and digital platforms whose reach is no longer limited by time and space.
The activity was opened by the Deputy Mayor of Cirebon, Siti Farida Rosmawati. Before entering the series of events, the Deputy Mayor invited all participants to bow their heads and pray for the victims of natural disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. “Let us offer our best prayers so that the victims who died will receive a noble place, and the families left behind will be given fortitude and strength,” he said.
In his speech, the Deputy Mayor expressed his appreciation to DKUKMPP for the initiative which he considered very relevant to the current condition of MSMEs. He emphasized that the digital era and global competition require MSMEs not just to survive, but to transform.
“The existence of MSMEs is not just an economic support when the national situation is unstable. They are the driving force that opens up job opportunities at the grassroots,” he said.
This transformation was realized through two major initiatives, Go Global–Go Modern and Go Online–Go Digital. According to the Deputy Mayor, improving product quality, packaging standards, business legality, and more professional management are urgent steps if MSMEs want to enter the modern and international market.
“Cirebon City products must have quality that is recognized, not only in the local market, but also in the wider market,” he said.
Apart from that, digitalization is a non-negotiable necessity. The Deputy Mayor emphasized that the market is now on the device screen. He hopes that the participants will not only take home certificates, but will truly master the practices taught, including product photography techniques and online promotion strategies.
“MSME players must understand digital marketing, maximize social media, utilize search engines, and be able to accept non-cash transactions,” he stressed.
The Cirebon City Government, he continued, is ready to strengthen the MSME ecosystem through facilitation, assistance and ease of access. “We want to see more Cirebon City MSME products entering the digital market and modern market. By working together, Cirebon City MSMEs can appear tough, modern and competitive,” he said.
Head of DKUKMPP Cirebon City, Iing Daiman, emphasized that this training was designed as a concrete step to improve the digital competence of business actors. This year, as many as 100 participants took part in the training.
“Participants are equipped with practical knowledge and skills regarding digital marketing, social media management, creative content creation, online branding strategies, and the use of analytics to improve business performance,” he explained.
Iing added that the enthusiasm to increase the capacity and capability of MSME players must continue to be maintained. He also mentioned his recent meeting with the Chairman of BP Rebana, Helmy Yahya, who encouraged MSME players to continue strengthening their competencies so that they are ready to compete in the wider economic area.
“We have the ability and willingness to move up in class. Don’t be complacent about existing products; MSME players must continue to develop and seize new opportunities,” he said.
Furthermore, Iing opened a collaboration space with various parties to strengthen the growth of MSMEs in Udang City. According to him, digitalization is no longer a challenge, but a big opportunity that can bring local products to penetrate national and even global markets. It is hoped that Cirebon City MSMEs will not only be present in the digital space, but will be able to emerge as players to be reckoned with.
“We are very open to collaborating. Let’s together advance the City of Cirebon and improve community welfare through stronger and more modern MSMEs,” he said.
