Mundu–Pamengkang Road Concrete Project Carried Out When It Rains, Residents Question Quality.

Cirebon Regency, Kontroversinews, Com. The implementation of the Mundu–Pamengkang Road improvement project in Mundu District, Cirebon Regency, has received public attention. It is known that the road concreting project continues to be carried out during rainy conditions, giving rise to residents’ concerns about the quality of the work.

Based on information in the field, the road improvement project with a length of around 185 meters and a width of 4 meters costs IDR 399,500,000, sourced from the Regency APBD. The project has an implementation time of 45 calendar days and is implemented by CV Cahaya Bintang.

Monitoring by residents on Saturday (20/12/2025) showed that concrete casting activities were still ongoing even though it was raining. Apart from that, workers at the project site were also seen not using personal protective equipment (PPE) according to work safety standards.

A number of residents expressed concerns that concrete casting during rain could affect the adhesion and strength of the road structure. It is feared that rainwater mixed with concrete material will change the composition of the mix, potentially causing premature cracking and shortening the service life of the road.

“If it is done when it rains, we are worried that the quality will not be optimal. Don’t let it be damaged after only a few months,” said one resident near the project site.

Residents hope that project implementers and related agencies can pay more attention to technical aspects and work safety, as well as ensure that infrastructure development is carried out in accordance with applicable specifications and regulations to ensure quality and benefit to the community.
