Brass, Konntroversinews | There was news regarding a customer at the BRI Lebakwangi Unit, Kuningan Regency, who had applied for a loan three times and was then rejected on the fourth application allegedly due to notes Financial Services Authority (OJK) through the Financial Information Services System (SLIK), is in the spotlight and is considered to require attention from the Central Government.
The rejection was said to have occurred because there was one family member on one Family Card who had a problem with the OJK SLIK record. According to the Head of the BRI Lebakwangi Unit, following the previous report, there was an instruction (sprint) from the BRI West Java Regional Office so that the loan application would not be approved.
Responding to this, the Chair of the National Corruption Monitoring Institute (LPKN) DPD West Java, Jhoni Panne, spoke. On Wednesday (25/2/2026) via cellular connection, he said that the OJK SLIK is not the only absolute requirement for financial institutions to reject loan applications.
“This customer has submitted three applications and was considered successful. Is it true that just because her husband had problems with the OJK SLIK, the next application was rejected? There should be an objective consideration of the customer’s own track record,” he said.
According to him, if it is true that there are instructions from the BRI West Java Regional Office not to provide loans due to previous reports, then this needs to be a serious concern for the Central Government. He believes that such a policy has the potential to harm small communities who generally apply for loans in the range of IDR 10-20 million for business needs, not large amounts.
“This needs to be clarified. What is the basis for this sprint? Don’t let internal policies actually hinder access to financing for small communities,” he stressed.
LPKN DPD West Java stated that it would immediately send a letter of clarification to the BRI West Java Regional Office. Apart from that, his party also plans to write to the Ministry of MSMEs, Central OJK and Central BRI Commissioner to request follow-up and evaluation of this issue.
He added that the government must be present to ensure that financing institutions, especially state-owned banks (Himbara), remain on the side of small business actors who have good faith and a clear track record of payments.
“We hope that the letter we will send will receive a response, so that in the future the credit assessment system will not harm the community due to administrative problems for different family members,” he concluded. ***
