August 28 Tragedy, Kuningan Action Committee Call the failure of political leadership

Kuningan, Controversinews | The Kuningan Regency Democratic Care Committee consisting of a combination of mass organizations, NGOs, and the online motorcycle taxi community held a peaceful action in front of the Kuningan Police Station, Sunday (8/31/2025) yesterday.

The action, which was attended by around 400 participants, took place in an orderly and safe manner, without being colored by riots as happened in several other regions.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Barracks, Nana Rusdiana, S.IP, expressed concern over the chaotic democracy after the tragedy incident on August 28, 2025 which caused casualties.

“The event is a tragedy of democracy as well as a mirror of the failure of political leadership in caring for democratic space,” said Nana.

He added, the peaceful action that was held was proof that democracy still existed, was still alive, and could run without violence. True democracy, according to him, is a democracy that upholds the values, ethics, and national principles.

The action activity was closed with a joint prayer for the late Affan Kurniawan, as well as the submission of a statement of attitude containing seven demands to the relevant parties:

1. Strongly criticized the repressive action of the security forces.
2. Urge the thorough investigation of the tragedy August 28, 2025.
3. Stop all forms of arrogance and repressive actions of the apparatus.
4. Ask all parties to refrain from maintaining the nation’s integrity.
5. Demanding the party leader to remove members of the Indonesian Parliament who are considered to provoke and provoke public disappointment.
6. Asserted that the tragedy of August 28, 2025 was the tragedy of democracy and a mirror of the failure of political leadership in caring for democratic space.

This peaceful action went smoothly without anarchist actions. This is a clear proof that the people of Kuningan Cinta Peace.
