Kab. Bandung (controversinews) – Polemic Processing Chicken Feathers in Kp. Ciganitri, Lengkong Village, Bojongsoang District, finally met a bright spot. After going through a mediation meeting between residents, employers, and the Bandung Regency Government, the Environment Agency (DLH) ensures that the business Rahmat Syarief And Euis Patima Officially stopped.

Robi, Head of Bandung Regency DLH, emphasized that the termination was carried out because there was a change in spatial planning.
“At the Ciganitri location, chicken feather business activities are not allowed. In accordance with spatial rules, these activities must be stopped,” he said at a discussion meeting on Thursday (4/9/2025).

The decision was in line with complaints of residents who were more than a year questioning the handling of the pungent odor from the activity of processing chicken feathers. Residents consider the government to be slow, until finally DLH provides legal certainty for the business status.

Meanwhile, Bojongsoang Sub -District Head asserted that the government should not give “false hope” to employers.
“If the spatial plan does not allow it, yes, it must not.

However, behind the termination of this chicken feather business, there is still social problems. There are around 100 residents who depend their lives from the business and are now affected.

This mediation reflects the attraction of the interests between the rights of citizens to live healthy and the rights of workers earn a living. The next question is whether the government only stops at business closure, or also prepares concrete solutions for workers who lose their livelihoods?
