The Action Committee for Consolidated Buningan Democracy, Ready to Hold the Piece of the People & Istighosah

Kuningan, Controversinews | The wave of protest action in Jakarta also had an impact on various regions. In Kuningan Regency, a number of mass organizations, NGOs, as well as representatives of the online motorcycle taxi community (Ojol) plans to hold a concern for democratic conditions that are considered to be more chaotic. The action will also be accompanied by istighosah prayer together to pray for the victims in the violent incident involving Brimob officers.

On Friday (29/8/2025), at the Secretariat of the Joint Communication Forum for Ormas & NGOs (FK-GOL), representatives of the Ojol organization together with the FK-GOL management held a consolidation meeting. The meeting discussed the People’s Pulpit and Istighosah Action Plan which will be held in front of the Kuningan Mapolres.

The series of events will begin at 17.00 WIB with the pulpit of the people, followed by the evening prayer in congregation, unseen prayers for the late Bang Umar and Apan – two victims of the violence of the apparatus – and the sowing of flowers as a symbol of concern over the conditions of democracy in Indonesia.

The Chairperson of the Kuningan Democracy Care Committee, Kang Nana Rusdiana, S.IP, stated that the people were united to fight for their rights.

“As long as injustice is still standing, the sound of resistance will never stop,” he said.

According to him, officials and representatives of the people actually live in luxury, inversely proportional to the people they should serve.

“People’s servants are even richer than their master, namely the people. All of that is because of the wealth of the people allegedly robbed for the prosperity of the officials,” he said sarcastically.

Kang Nana also strongly condemned the actions of the apparatus who according to him could run over the people with tactical vehicles that were actually bought from public money.

“Ironically, protectors and protectors of the people actually act otherwise. They are facilitated by public money, but instead protect officials who are pounding in luxury in cruel ways,” he said.

He asserted that the action to be held was a form of moral resistance as well as the voices of the people that had long been oppressed.

“The people have suffered for too long. The economy is difficult, all are paid completely, while officials live well. Let’s get up together uphold justice,” he concluded. ***
