Lacking transparency, Kediri Village Government does not provide clarification regarding the 2024 APBDes

District Subang, Konntroversinews | The Village Head and Secretary of Kediri Village, Binong District, Subang Regency, seemed to be throwing responsibility at each other and chose to remain silent when confirmed regarding regulations regarding the use of the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) for Fiscal Year 2024.

The community’s rights and obligations to know, monitor and supervise the use of Village Funds are allegedly ignored by the Kediri Village Government. In fact, these provisions are expressly regulated in Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages and Law Number 1 of 2022.

Article 82 of the Village Law states that the community has the right to monitor and supervise village development. Meanwhile, Law Number 1 of 2022 emphasizes that Village Funds are part of transfers to regions which must be used to support the implementation of village government, development, community empowerment and community activities.

The community should obtain information regarding village development plans and implementation through open publications, information boards and accountability reports. Apart from that, the community also has the right to submit monitoring results and complaints to the Village Government and the Village Consultative Body (BPD).

Attempts to confirm with the Village Government Failed

Media crew visited the Kediri Village Office, Binong District, on Friday, January 30 2026, accompanied by other media colleagues, to confirm the 2024–2025 Fiscal Year APBDes. The arrival of the media crew was received by the Village Secretary.

However, when asked for information, the Village Secretary chose not to provide an answer and instead threw confirmation to the Village Head. On the other hand, the Village Head also directed the media crew to return to the Village Secretary, so that no official information was obtained from the village government.

Further confirmation efforts via WhatsApp messages to the Village Head and Village Secretary have also been carried out. However, until this news was published, no response or clarification had been provided.

Based on the 2024 APBDes regulatory data for Kediri Village, Binong District, Subang Regency, it is recorded:

• Maintenance of Residential Roads/Alleys: Rp. 85,840,000

Urge Transparency and Investigation

With the emergence of a number of irregularities in budget management and the lack of information disclosure, the community and social control activists are urging the Law Enforcement Officials (APH), the Inspectorate, and the Subang Regency Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMD) to immediately carry out an audit and in-depth investigation of the Kediri Village APBDes for Fiscal Year 2024.

Village Fund management must be carried out transparently, accountably and in accordance with regulations so as not to give rise to allegations of budget misuse which has the potential to harm the community.
