DISTRICT. BANDUNG, Konntroversinews | Located in the Pameungpeuk District Office Hall, Bandung Regency, Member of the DPR RI Commission IX PKB Fraction, H. Asep Romy Romaya, SE, provided education regarding complaint services and case resolution for prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). This activity aims to ensure that prospective PMIs understand their basic rights before working abroad.
In his speech, H. Asep Romy Romaya emphasized that the state must be present in providing protection for PMI who are the backbone of the nation’s economy.
“PMI are foreign exchange heroes. They sacrificed far from their families to support this country. Therefore, the state must be present to provide comprehensive protection, not just on paper,” he stressed, Saturday (08/11/2025).
Meanwhile, the Head of West Java BP3MI, Police Commissioner. Mulia Nugraha, SIK, emphasized the importance of educational activities like this so that prospective PMIs understand their rights from the start.
“Employment social security protection is not just a facility, but their constitutional right. We want to ensure that PMI leave in peace, work safely, and return home safely,” he explained.
The event was attended by the Head of Pameungpeuk Subdistrict Agus Hindar Ruswanto, S.STP., M.Si., village officials, hundreds of residents — mostly PMI candidates and their families — as well as officials from BP3MI West Java, BPJS Employment, and the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI).
The participants agreed that protection for PMI cannot be carried out separately, but requires synergy between the government, legislature, employment institutions and society. ***
