Kuningan, Kontroversnews – The statement by the Head of the Legal Division of the Kuningan Regional Government, Mahardika, in one of the media which called the case of the Padamenak Village Head (Kades) “lack of sufficient evidence” sparked a strong reaction from the Kuningan Regency Joint Communication Forum of Mass Organizations and NGOs (FK-GOL).
On Saturday (18/10/2025), Chair of the FK-GOL Barracks, Nana Rusdiana, S.IP, said that legally, the statement by the Head of the Legal Division was correct in the context of criminal law. However, according to him, this case is not a criminal case, but rather a violation of the ethics and morals of public officials.
“There was no report of the crime of immorality (adultery) from the victim—in this case the husband—to law enforcement officials (APH). So this is purely a question of moral ethics. The Padamenak village head is a public official at the village level, and the community is demanding that he resign because of his alleged indecent actions. That’s a normal thing,” said Nana.
According to him, the evidence for the alleged moral violation is quite strong.
“There are WhatsApp chats containing lewd advances, testimonies from residents who saw the village head frequently going in and out of Linmas’ house, and even confessions from Linmas’ own children. All of this shows violations of morals and norms that cannot be justified,” he added.
Nana emphasized that this case should be an important note for all public officials to maintain office ethics and honor.
“Public officials are exemplary figures. They must be aware that their position is a symbol of moral and social responsibility before society,” he stressed.
Furthermore, Nana said that the people of Padamenak are now urging the village head to immediately resign from his position.
“Religious, social and societal norms have clearly been tarnished. It is natural for society to demand moral responsibility,” he said.
On the same occasion, FK-GOL also highlighted the position of the Head of the Kuningan Regional Government Legal Division who came from the prosecutor’s office.
“We hope that in the future the position of Head of Legal Affairs will no longer be from the prosecutor’s office, even though regulations allow it. The results of our analysis show that the naturalization of officials from the prosecutor’s office actually has the potential to hamper the legal process, especially in handling corruption cases in Kuningan,” he said.
Nana quipped that many cases of suspected corruption in government agencies were “stagnant” without clarity.
“Initially there was enthusiasm—gas pol—but suddenly the brakes suddenly disappeared without a trace. Naturalization for the national team is good, because it has a positive impact, but naturalization for legal officials? It’s a different story,” he quipped sharply.
Closing his statement, Nana expressed his appreciation to the Padamenak community for maintaining conduciveness.
“We give a thumbs up to the people of Padamenak who did not act anarchistically. Imagine if the village head entered the Linmas house at night, the people arrested him and paraded him, even tying him to a flagpole while writing in large letters ‘KADES OTT IN THE LINMAS HOUSE WHILE THE LINMAS IS ON DUTY’. That would be much more embarrassing,” he concluded. ***
