Cirebon Regency, Konntroversinews | In the series of welcoming the commemoration of National Press Day (HPN) 2026, the Greater Cirebon Indonesian Convergence Media Association (AMKI) together with the Online Journalist Forum (FJO) carried out Blessing Friday social activities by visiting GRAY orphans and poor people in Kesambi, Cirebon City. The routine Friday Blessing agenda was led by the Chair of the Online Journalist Forum (FJO) Toto M. Sa’id, accompanied by the Chair of AMKI Cirebon Raya Rudi, Sukri who was welcomed directly by Mba Rika and her husband representing Gray Orphans and the poor.
Toto M. Sa’id said that this activity was a manifestation of the journalist organization’s commitment to not only be present as transmitters of information, but also as part of society with social and moral responsibilities.
“This shows AMKI’s commitment together with the Online Journalist Forum as a forum for journalists who care about orphans and the poor as the next generation in strengthening the foundation of social and environmental care as well as the role of journalists who care about orphans and the poor.” explained Toto.
According to him, through this simple but meaningful activity, AMKI and FJO want to instill the values of togetherness, empathy and social care among members of the press, as well as having a positive impact on the surrounding community.
“We really care about orphans and the poor, in accordance with the mandate of Sunan Gunung Jati Cirebon, ‘Ingsun Take Care of the Poor’. This value is what we continue to maintain and actualize,” he stressed.
He also expressed his appreciation and thanks to the donors and fellow journalists who had set aside their good fortune for the Friday Blessing activities.
“Hopefully what is given will be a charity and bring blessings to all parties,” he added.
Rudi, Chairman of AMKI Cirebon Raya, who was accompanied by Nawawi, said the same thing, that this Blessing Friday activity was also a means of friendship between media owners and journalists, as well as strengthening the sense of togetherness and social awareness in the press environment.
“Thank God, today AMKI and FJO after Friday prayers were able to share sustenance in the form of basic necessities to orphans, the poor and Qur’an tahfidz students. This activity is full of blessings and strengthens togetherness between media people,” he said.
Added by the advisory board Moh. Noly Alamsyah, the routine Friday Blessing agenda held by AMKI and FJO emphasized that journalists not only play a role as pillars of democracy and social control, but also have a moral responsibility in building solidarity and humanitarian concern.
More than that, amidst the increasingly complex challenges of the world of journalism, the presence of members of the press in social spaces like this is a reminder that the values of empathy and humanity must remain the spirit of the journalist profession.
So, from the 2026 HPN series, through social activities like this, it also sends a strong message that the commemoration of National Press Day is not only filled with ceremonies, but is realized through real actions that are felt directly by the community.
“A press that is close to the people is a press that is able to maintain public trust and the dignity of its profession. This is a sign.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Gray Mba Rika, she admitted that she really appreciated the Blessing Friday activities carried out by AMKI and FJO. He hopes that similar activities can continue and become a routine agenda.
