Journalists Prohibited from Coverage: This is the Explanation of Member of the Republic of Indonesia’s DPR, Zulfikar SH

In the framework of the 6th Electoral District Visit (Kundapil) for the 2025–2026 Session Period I, Member of the DPR RI Commission Tuesday, (28 October 2025).

The event, which was held at the Gyokai Indonesia Kompeten Building, Pesona Wibawa Praja Housing, Jeungjing Village, Cisoka District, was attended by community representatives, environmental figures, as well as representatives from the Ministry of the Environment (KLH).

Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2nd period said that his presence in the Gyokai building was an invitation to socialize the Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL), which was held by the Ministry of the Environment.

“The DPR RI Kundapil activity was not indoors but outside, namely the handover of 1 unit of Bentor brand VIAR to residents of the Pesona community. As for the activities of the Ministry of Environment, they were the organizers of the event and I was an invited guest,” said Zulfikar Hamonangan when confirmed by the media crew via his WhatsApp telephone.

After the socialization by the KLH representative continued Zulfikar, it was followed by an outside event, namely the inauguration of the IPAL.

On today’s agenda, a Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL) socialization program was carried out as part of the clean water assistance program for residents of the Pesona Wibawa Praja Cisoka Housing Complex.

After completing the socialization event at the invitation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry regarding IPAL activities which are familiarly called BANG ZUL, they continued to carry out regional DAPIL visits in RW 06 in KUNDAPIL activities which were scheduled outside the location of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry’s event.

This activity was also coupled with the handover of one VIAR brand bentor unit as government assistance intended for social activities in the RW 06 Pesona Housing area. A photo was taken with the handover of the unit to help clean the environment for the residents of Pesona RW 06 Jeunjing Village, Cisoka District, Tangerang Regency.

“So none of my team and staff pushed away or refused the media to cover it because after the socialization was finished, it was continued actively outside the location with the inauguration of the IPAL from the Ministry of Environment,” explained Bang Zul as he is known.

Bang Zul confirmed that the prohibition on coverage by a number of media crews was not from his team, but from the committee or the security management of the Gyokai building. This was not a prohibition, it was just that invited guests were limited due to several considerations, such as inadequate space and they could only attend if they could show an official invitation, due to insufficient space.

He also emphasized that his presence was solely to fulfill the socialization invitation from the Ministry of the Environment and to witness the inauguration of the IPAL.

“I attended at an official invitation from the Ministry of the Environment for the socialization and inauguration of the IPAL. This activity was fully organized by the Ministry, not by me personally. I hope that this program will bring real benefits to the community, especially in improving the quality of the environment and the health of residents,” said Zulfikar.

Through this activity, it is hoped that the community will increasingly understand the importance of waste water management and sustainable use of clean water facilities. This program is also a real form of collaboration between the central government and the community in supporting environmentally sound development in the Tangerang Regency area.
